Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who resigned in disgrace, will be charged with forcible touching. Multiple media outlets are reporting Cuomo will be arrested next week.

“Disgraced ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo is expected to be arrested next week and charged with a misdemeanor in the alleged groping of a former aide,” The New York Post said.

The misdemeanor charge stems from the criminal investigation into one of his former aides claiming Cuomo groped her. The former New York governor is accused by the Albany County Sheriff’s Office of reaching under a woman’s blouse and touching her breast.

“A Misdemeanor Complaint against former Governor Andrew Cuomo has been filed in Albany City Court” a spokesperson said, Fox News reported. “As this is a sex crime, a redacted complaint will be available shortly.”

New York Attorney General Letitia James today released the following statement after criminal charges were brought against former Governor Andrew Cuomo:

“From the moment my office received the referral to investigate allegations that former Governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women, we proceeded without fear or favor. The criminal charges brought today against Mr. Cuomo for forcible touching further validate the findings in our report.”

“My clients are enormously grateful for the courage of the women who have come forward to speak the truth about Cuomo’s misconduct,” Mariann Wang, an attorney for Cuomo accusers Alyssa McGrath and Virginia Limmiatis said. “Cuomo is being held to account as he should be, including by being forced to answer a criminal charge. We hope that all men who abuse their power by abusing women will see this and understand that there will be real consequences to their profoundly damaging behavior.”

New 4 New York reported.

Lucian Chalfen, a spokesman for the state court system, confirmed a misdemeanor complaint against Cuomo had been filed in a “sex crime” case in Albany City Court.

A copy of the complaint from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office, obtained by News 4, alleges that Cuomo committed the misdemeanor act of forcible touching at his official residence on the afternoon of Dec. 7 last year.

“At the aforesaid date time and location the defendant Andrew M. Cuomo did intentionally, and for no legitimate purpose, forcibly place his hand under the blouse shirt of the victim [redacted] and into her intimate body part. Specifically, the victims (sic) left breast for the purposes of degrading and gratifying his sexual desires, all contrary to the provisions of the statute in such case made and provided,” the complaint said.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced his resignation from the office of governor in August.

Cuomo has denied any wrongdoing.

Prior to that, the assistant reportedly told investigators for the James report that Cuomo groped her privates in different incidents, and made repeated suggestive comments to her, CNBC reported.
