President Trump says he will return to White House Monday evening

President Trump said he will be discharged from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Monday evening and will return to the White House.

“I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M,” Trump tweeted. “Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!”

“He’s back,” Dr. Sean Conley, the president’s physician, told reporters at a press conference outside the hospital on Monday afternoon.

On Monday, White House physician Dr. Sean P. Conley said Trump’shealth is continuing to improve “over the past 24 hours” days after he was diagnosed with COVID-19. It’s “72 hours since his last fever,” his oxygen levels and breathing “are all normal,” and he had a recent temperature of 98.1 degrees F, according to Conley.

President Trump tweeted afterward: “STOCK MARKET UP BIG, 466 Points! 28,149. Great News for America. Jobs, Jobs, Jobs!”

President Trump, first lady test positive for coronavirus, set to quarantine at White House

President Trump announced early Friday that both he and the First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19 and will quarantine at the White House.

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19,” the president tweeted. “We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately.”

He added: “We will get through this TOGETHER!”

A White House source told Fox News shortly after the president’s tweet that he and the first lady are “fine” and are in the quarantine process at the White House.

Melania Trump also tweeted:

“As too many Americans have done this year, @POTUS & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together.”

Dr. Sean P. Conley, the president’s physician, also confirmed Trump and the first lady’s positive COVID-19 tests.

“This evening I received confirmation that both President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for the SARS-coV-2- virus,” Conley said. “The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence.”

Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and Barron Trump Test Negative for Coronavirus

President Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, and her husband Jared Kushner tested negative for the coronavirus on Friday, according to the White House.

“Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were tested again today for COVID-19 and both are negative,” Assistant to the President Carolina Hurley confirmed on Twitter on Friday morning.

Barron Trump, the president’s youngest son, also tested negative for the virus, according to the first lady’s chief of staff, Stephanie Grisham.

“Barron has tested negative and all precautions are being taken to ensure he’s kept safe and healthy,” Grisham told CNN’s Kate Bennett.

Vice President Mike Pence, who chairs the White House Coronavirus Task Force, is scheduled to debate Democrat vice presidential contender Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) next week in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is unclear at this stage how this development will affect that, or the two future presidential debates scheduled for later in October.

First Lady Melania Trump ‘Feeling Good’ After Testing Positive for Covid-19

First lady Melania Trump says she and President Donald Trump are “feeling good” after testing positive for the Chinese coronavirus on Thursday evening.

In a statement, Mrs. Trump wrote that she and Trump, 74, will quarantine at the White House.

“As too many Americans have done this year, [President Trump] & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19,” Mrs. Trump wrote. “We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together.”

“The President takes the health and safety of himself and everyone who works in support of him and the American people very seriously,” White House spokesperson Judd Deere said in a statement Thursday night, according to ABC News.

“White House Operations collaborates with the Physician to the President and the White House Military Office to ensure all plans and procedures incorporate current CDC guidance and best practices for limiting COVID-19 exposure to the greatest extent possible both on complex and when the President is traveling,” he added.

Senior White House official Dan Scavino tweeted: “POTUS & FLOTUS are doing GREAT! Here’s to a speedy recovery, with prayers and much love, on behalf of everyone down here in the West Wing!”

CBS News reported that White House chief of staff Mark Meadows tested negative for the coronavirus and his top aide also tested negative.

“White House Chief of @MarkMeadows has tested negative for coronavirus as has senior WH aide Ben Williamson, @_WilliamsonBen tells @CBSNews,” Fin Gomez reported. “Both in ‘good shape’ and will be rested Friday.”

“Our President and First Lady have tested positive for COVID-19, however, rest assured they are both fine and completely asymptotic. The President is in very good health and has NO comorbities,” former White House physician Ronny Jackson tweeted. “Well over 99% of healthy individuals in the President’s age group recover completely and most never even become symptomatic. I fully expect this to be the case with President Trump as well.”

More than 7.2 million people in the U.S. have tested positive for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic. More than 207,000 have died while over 2.8 million have recovered, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

Pompeo says he and wife tested negative for coronavirus

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told the press pool traveling with him in Dubrovnik that he and his wife tested negative for coronavirus on Friday morning.

He said he has not been with President Trump since the signing of the Abraham Accords at the White House on Sept. 15, adding he’s been traveling for the majority of the past 17 days.

“We are praying for the President and first lady that they’ll have a speedy recovery,” Pompeo, who was wearing an American flag mask, told reporters.

Asked if he was still planning on traveling this weekend, Pompeo said “we’re going to evaluate” whether it is appropriate to travel to Florida on Saturday and then to Asia on Sunday. He said “we’ll spend the next few hours” consulting with medical experts on the issue, adding that his doctor in Washington and the State Department medical team had already told him it would be “perfectly fine” for him to make the trips.

“You know, we take a lot of precautions,” Pompeo said when asked if he would be taking extra protective measures in light of the news. He said there would be extra contact tracing in place for people who had been to the White House.

Dow futures fall more than 400 points after Trump Covid-19 diagnosis

Global markets and US stock futures were roiled on Friday by news that President Trump and first lady Melania Trump have tested positive for coronavirus.

Dow futures were last down 370 points, or 1.3%, after falling more than 450 points just after Trump tweeted his condition. S&P 500 futures were down 1.3% and Nasdaq futures were down 1.6%.

Stocks in Asia Pacific also slid on the news. Japan’s Nikkei 225 dropped 0.7%, while Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 fell 1.4%. Other markets in the region, including those in Hong Kong, mainland China and South Korea, are closed for public holidays. European stocks opened lower, with the FTSE 100 dropping 0.7% in London, while France’s CAC 40 shed 1% and Germany’s DAX declined 1.1%.

Oil futures also tumbled. US crude futures fell 2.8% to $37.62 per barrel, while Brent, the world oil benchmark, lost 2.8% to hit $39.79 per barrel. Both had settled lower on Thursday.
