YouTube to Begin Removing Claims of Election Fraud
Internet video site YouTube said Wednesday that it would begin to remove any uploaded content that suggested Joe Biden won – or President Donald Trump lost – November’s presidential election due to voter fraud, labeling it as “misleading.”
YouTube, purchased by Google in 2006 and now operating under the Alphabet umbrella, announced the decision in a blog post, suggesting that the videos violate its “community guidelines” that “prohibit spam, scams, or other manipulated media, coordinated influence operations, and any content that seeks to incite violence.”
The company justified its decision on the so-called safe harbor deadline, the date which states are expected to certify their election results.
“Given that, we will start removing any piece of content uploaded today (or anytime after) that misleads people by alleging that widespread fraud or errors changed the outcome of the 2020 U.S. Presidential election, in line with our approach towards historical U.S. Presidential elections,” the San Bruno, California-based YouTube wrote. “For example, we will remove videos claiming that a Presidential candidate won the election due to widespread software glitches or counting errors.”
Hunter Biden ‘tax affairs’ under federal investigation
Hunter Biden, the son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, said Wednesday that the U.S. attorney’s office in Delaware is investigating his tax affairs.
“I learned yesterday for the first time that the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs,” the younger Biden said in a statement.
“I take this matter very seriously but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors,” Hunter Biden added.
The former vice president “is deeply proud of his son, who has fought through difficult challenges, including the vicious personal attacks of recent months, only to emerge stronger,” the statement said.
Swalwell refuses to explain relationship with suspected Chinese spy accused of affairs with mayors
Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., is keeping quiet about his past relationship with a woman suspected of acting as a Chinese spy.
Axios reported that a Chinese national named Fang Fang or Christine Fang targeted up-and-coming local politicians, including Swalwell. Fang reportedly helped fundraise for Swalwell’s 2014 campaign and helped place at least one intern in his office.
In fact, a former intelligence official told Fox News the Chinese for years have sent spies to “sleep with lesser-known members of Congress and staffers.”
Schiff Refuses To Disclose Why He Withheld Details Of Swalwell’s Relationship With A Chinese Spy From Intel Committee
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff did not respond to The Federalist’s questions about Intelligence Committee member and California Rep. Eric Swalwell’s position on the committee in light of recent news revealing Swalwell’s connections with a suspected Chinese spy.
When asked whether Swalwell’s position on the House Intelligence Committee would be tainted or compromised by his relationship with Christine Fang, a suspected spy for communist China, Swalwell’s office did not reply as of press time. According to a new report by Axios, Fang leveraged her position and connections in California’s Bay Area for years to gather intelligence on Democrat politicians and government officials.
Schiff’s office also did not respond when asked if he previously knew about Swalwell’s involvement with Fang or if he was briefed about Swalwell’s relationship with Fang.
Lawmakers: Remove Swalwell From Intelligence Committee After Link to Chinese Spy Revealed
Lawmakers are asking Democratic leadership in the House of Representatives to remove Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) from a powerful committee after his alleged ties to a Chinese spy were reported this week.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Tuesday night wondered whether Democratic congressional leaders were aware of Swalwell’s reported links to Fang Fang, a Chinese spy.
“Remember what Swalwell said. He accused the president of everything that he did, by lying to the American public and sitting on the Intel Committee,” McCarthy said on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”
“Not only should he be removed from the Intel, he should be removed from Congress as well.”
Others joined McCarthy in urging Swalwell be removed from the committee, or step down.
“He should step down from the House Intelligence Committee immediately. Our national security is at stake!” Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) said on Twitter.
“As a Member of the House Select Committee on Intelligence, Rep Swalwell has access to highly classified national security material. Swalwell has been compromised by at least one China Communist Party operative. He must be removed from HPSCI immediately,” Rep. Rick Crawford (R-Ark.) added.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), the Senate Judiciary chairman, said the report “Shows extremely bad judgement and rank hypocrisy on the part of Congressman Swalwell who led the charge in the Russia Hoax and impeachment.”
Michigan State Rep Who Threatened Trump Supporters Stripped Of Committee Assignments
Democratic Michigan State Rep. Cynthia Johnson was stripped of her committee assignments Wednesday after she threatened supporters of President Donald Trump in a Facebook live video.
The Speaker of the Michigan House Lee Chatfield released a statement, explaining that Johnson had been removed from her committees and that there is an active investigation going on to determine if further action is necessary.
“Threats to Democrats or Republicans are unacceptable and un-American. They’re even more unbecoming of an elected official. Rep. CA Johnson has been stripped of her committees and we’re looking into further disciplinary action as the proper authorities conduct their investigation,” Chatfield said in the statement.
