Former President Trump releases statement on the latest that New York is suspending Rudy Giuliani from practicing law.
Can you believe that New York wants to strip Rudy Giuliani, a great American Patriot, of his law license because he has been fighting what has already been proven to be a Fraudulent Election? The greatest Mayor in the history of New York City, the Eliot Ness of his generation, one of the greatest crime fighters our Country has ever known, and this is what the Radical Left does to him. All of New York is out of control, crime is at an all-time high—it’s nothing but a Witch Hunt, and they should be ashamed of themselves. TAKE BACK AMERICA!
Rudy Giuliani is suspended from practicing law in New York
“We find that there is evidence of continuing misconduct, the underlying offense is incredibly serious, and the uncontroverted misconduct in itself will likely result in substantial permanent sanctions,” the court said.
Giuliani’s statements about voting in Arizona, Georgia and Pennsylvania were cited in the scathing, 33-page suspension order issued by a five-judge panel of the Appellate Division of the First Judicial Department of New York state Supreme Court. That department encompasses the Bronx as well as Manhattan, where Giuliani’s law office is located.
“This country is being torn apart by continued attacks on the legitimacy of the 2020 election and of our current president, Joseph R. Biden,” the court said.
“Where, as here, the false statements are being made by (Giuliani), acting with the authority of being an attorney, and using his large megaphone, the harm is magnified.”
Giuliani’s suspension is temporary, pending the outcome of a full formal disciplinary hearing.
Rudy Giuliani, in an interview with NBC News outside his Upper East Side apartment, griped that it “is ridiculous” that he was being disciplined without a hearing, and claimed that the judges only listening “to false allegations made by the Democrats.”
Rudy Giuliani’s reactions
In a statement, Giuliani’s lawyers said: “We are disappointed with the Appellate Division, First Department’s decision suspending Mayor Giuliani prior to being afforded a hearing on the issues that are alleged.”
“This is unprecedented as we believe that our client does not pose a present danger to the public interest,” said the statement by John Leventhal and Barry Kamins, both retired judges.
“We believe that once the issues are fully explored at a hearing Mr. Giuliani will be reinstated as a valued member of the legal profession that he has served so well in his many capacities for so many years.”
Rudy Giuliani, in the interview outside his home, said, “I haven’t had a chance for a hearing … how can they said I lied without a hearing, they haven’t questioned me.”
“If you want to say I said something irresponsible, you have to give me a chance to defend myself … courts can’t decide based on newspapers,” Giuliani said. “I feel personally worried for the country … only Trump lawyers get investigated.”
“Somebody has to fix this double standard justice system I may as well be in East Germany or Iran,” he said. I wish I was in state not controlled by one party or a city controlled by one party.”
Giuliani’s son Andrew, a former White House aide to Trump, said that the suspension was “unacceptable” and the product of judges appointed by Democratic governors, including Gov. Andrew Cuomo, whom Andrew is seeking to unseat.
“This is going after one of President Trump’s closest allies, that’s exactly what this is,” Andrew Giuliani said in a video posted on his Twitter account. “I stand by my father. He did everything, ultimately, by the book.”
