Source Chain Mapper
Map how a claim moved from an original source through reposts, summaries or screenshots so you can see whether the evidence chain actually reaches a primary source.
Method and assumptions
The mapper rewards an identified primary source and makes intermediary hops visible. A shorter chain is not automatically better: one direct but unreliable source can be weaker than a well-documented secondary report. The score is therefore a workflow prompt, not a truth metric.
Use “original source” for the record that directly contains the evidence: a filing, dataset, full interview, official statement, raw video or firsthand document. Use intermediary fields for articles or posts that merely describe that source.
Limits
The “Source Chain Mapper” utility organizes evidence; it does not determine truth automatically.
